Ogden Valley residents have been blasted in a series of major snowstorms rolling across Utah. The Lake Effect has blessed us with deep snows at Powder Mountain, Snowbasin and Wolf Creek Utah's resorts. The storms, which have dropped large quantities of snow in Utah, including a Blizzard Warning in Utah on Tuesday. Snowbasin opened today & Powder Mountain opened for night skiing tonight with some of the best early skiing and riding conditions in recent memory. Wolf Creek Utah and Powder Mountain are both opening tomorrow the day after Thanksgiving. Snowbasin is offering early season rates on lift tickets as follows: Full Day: Adult $54/Youth $32/Senior $42/Little Cat $21/Little Cat & Becker $35. Half Day: Adult $45/Youth $24/Senior $34/Little Cat $17 Powder Mountain: Sundown and Timberline lifts will open on Friday Nov 26th at 9:00am. Day skiing passes will have early season pricing. $34 for adults and $21 for kids until we get more of the mountain open. Hidden Lake lift should be opening very soon. Wolf Creek's summer concert series  The Utah Symphony Orchestra and some new faces and local favorites will head up Wolf Creek Foundation’s Music in the Mountains 2010 Concert Series. The non-profit organization provides family-friendly concerts June through August at the base of the beautiful Wolf Creek ski hill in Ogden Valley, in order to raise funds for several local charities. Admission is only $20 per carload (with the exception of the Utah Symphony which is $40 per carload.) With descriptions provided by Wolf Creek, the series features: June 26 – Crescent Super Band, performing hip and intelligent arrangements of American standards. In addition, Anna Wilson, a critically acclaimed jazz artist and songwriter whose decadent and powerful voice has earned her billings with Josh Grobin and Al Jarreau. Funds raised at the event support weekend retreats for deploying airmen and women, and their families hosted by The Wolf Creek Foundation, the HAFB chaplain corps and several other base organizations. Retreat participants will receive special VIP seating at the concert. July 10 – The Utah Symphony will perform a classical and pops concert. The world-renowned Utah Symphony is brought to Ogden Valley through support from R.A.M.P. tax grant money and The Ogden Symphony and Ballet. This concert will benefit Wolf Creek Foundation. July 24 – American Rock and Country Singer Eric Heatherly will help locals celebrate Pioneer Day with his rockin’ guitar and smooth vocals. This concert will benefit a Wolf Creek Foundation charity. August 7 – Popular local talent Jon Schmidt (above) will fill the mountainside with his classical new age music that can be reflective on the one hand, and dramatic on the other, with pyrotechnics, upside down piano playing and back flips. This concert is sponsored by Bank of Utah and will benefit Cottages of Hope, an Ogden-based non-profit that provides financial counseling and resources for people hoping to buy a home. August 21 – Rock and roll greats Mike Pinera of Iron Butterfly, Peter Rivera of Rare Earth and Jerry Corbetta of Sugarloaf will jam and perform will known hits such as Ride Captain Ride, Get Ready, Green Eyed Lady and I just Want to Celebrate. Concert proceeds will support the Landstuhl Hospital Care Project, which provides clothing for wounded soldiers under care at America’s largest overseas U.S. military hospital.
September 4 – The Soulistics combine their high energy with America’s soul music classics to create a highly entertaining show. The concert will be the culmination of a day-long Firefighter for the Day fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Local firefighters will “Fill the Boot” among the crowd while families can get up close and personal with firemen and their firefighting trucks and gear. A life flight helicopter and forest fire jumpers will also thrill the kids. For more information visit www.wolfcreekutah.com. The Wolf Creek Foundation, a 501C-3 non-profit organization, was founded in 2006 to support weekend retreats for families from Hill Air Force Base.
